Video: Near riot after police shooting in Anaheim

It was earlier reported that the dog was excited and agitated as the people were throwing things at the officers and got away on his own. He was not released by the officer to attack. You can tell the officer was trying to get to the dog quickly and get him off. Having worked around police dog handlers and dogs, an officer will not rush in that quickly if the dog has been intentionally released. They typically wait until the dog gets control of a suspect then go there. Unfortunately there happened to be movement by someone over by the mother that the dog likely did not like and went for. Lot going on and the animal had to chose something from all the chaos.

That being said, if there was a shooting that just took place, why in the heck would ANY sane person who loves their children take them to where the police activity is taking place? It is your responsibility as a parent to protect your children, NOT take them to a place where they could get hurt. If there are loud voices, that is your first indication NOT to go there with children in hand. When the proverbial cra-p hits the fan, if for some unexplainable reason you are there with kids, you need to get them out of there. Sorry, but I love my children more than being a rubbernecker at any type of police scene. I love them enough to keep them from harms way, unlike what I saw in the video.
