STAFFORD 2, BROOKE POINT 1 (OT)
McKenzie Bowler scored on a penalty stroke 56 seconds into overtime to give Stafford a 2?1 Commonwealth District field hockey win over visiting Brooke Point on Tuesday.
Audrey Braxton scored to give the Indians (10?3) the lead off an assist from Cassie Hooghouse, but Caitlin Flinn leveled the score with 12 minutes to play for Brooke Point.
Goalie Kelsey Trainor saved a Black?Hawks? penalty stroke in the first half for Stafford, which visits Albemarle on Thursday.
Goalie Maddie Davis registered 26 saves, while Flinn and Kate Kennedy each added a defensive save for Brooke Point (9?4), which hosts North Stafford on Thursday.
RIVERBEND 2, NORTH STAFFORD 1 (OT)
Lauren Liberman scored off an assist from Avery Warner 3 minutes into overtime to give visiting Riverbend a Commonwealth District win.
Haley McMahon had given the Bears (4?8) a 1?0 lead with three minutes to play, but Sam Barbarczuk equalized for North Stafford just before the game ended to force overtime.
Tabria Cochran played well in goal for the Wolverines.
Riverbend visits Mountain View on Thursday.
MASSAPONAX 5, ORANGE 0
Kiely Cloude had two goals to help Massaponax get a Commonwealth District home win.
Kenzie Raines, Jordan Hildebrand and Katie Brennan also scored for the Panthers (5?8). Greer Kane and Sam Frain provided assists.
Massaponax visits Riverbend on Monday.
MOUNTAIN VIEW 8, ALBEMARLE 0
Olivia Hubert had three goals and one assist, and Bailey McCarthy tallied two goals and two assists for Mountain View in a Commonwealth District win.
Morgan Lowery, McKenzie Cox and Caity Maffia also scored for the Wildcats (13?0). Lowery, Gretchen Geisler, Morgan LaRowe and Emily Johnson provided assists.
Mountain View hosts a ?Play for the Cure? game with Riverbend on Thursday.
LOUISA 1, KETTLE RUN 0
Kelsey Stanley made 31 saves in goal to help Serena Hutchins? first-half goal stand up and give Louisa a Jefferson District home win.
Kate Chisholm and Emily Boyle helped set up the winning goal, and Rebecca Parrish registered five defensive saves for the Lions.
Kettle Run outshot its hosts 43?15 and held a 20?1 edge in corners.
Louisa hosts Western Albemarle on Thursday.
