The Atkinson Common Charity Golf Tournament will be held Sept. 20 at Ould Newbury Golf Club. Registration begins at 8 a.m., with tee-off at 9. The cost for this event is $110. This price includes entry into all events, 18 holes of golf, riding cart, lunch and various awards. There will be an awards presentation and lunch directly after golf at the Ould Newbury Golf Club. The 22nd annual Anna Jaques Hospital ?Fore Your Health? Golf Tournament, chaired by Mayor Byron Matthews, will be held Aug. 27 in two rounds, at 7:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at Renaissance Country Club in Haverhill. Tickets are $150 for the morning round and $225 for the afternoon round and include 18 holes of golf with cart, breakfast and lunch (for the morning round) and lunch and dinner (for the afternoon round). The fourth annual NEF Open will be held Sept. 24 at the Ipswich Country Club to raise money for the Newburyport Public Schools. The event begins with a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m. Every golfer who signs up by Sept. 3 will receive a $25 gift certificate to Oregano Pizzeria and Ristorante in Newburyport. All proceeds benefit the Newburyport Education Foundation (NEF) and the Newburyport Public Schools. Registration fee of $225 includes box lunch, full access to the practice facilities, 18-holes of golf, on course contests, dinner, awards, and raffle prizes. Boosters

The Amesbury High School All-Sports Boosters Club has spots remaining for local businesses, organizations and families that would like to help sponsor AHS Athletics for 2012-13. This is the third year of the sponsorship program that began at Landry Stadium and has now moved up to the AHS campus. Since its inception, the Boosters? sponsorship program has helped raise funds to restore nearly 25 AHS sporting events, as well as four teams that had been cut from the Amesbury School Department budget, allowing over 60 student athletes to take to the field and proudly represent Amesbury High School. Amesbury High hockey will be holding the Friends of Amesbury Hockey Golf Classic Aug. 17 at Bradford Country Club. The 15th annual Gold Classic, in support of the American Red Cross of Northeast Massachusetts, will be held Sept. 10 at the Turner Hill Golf Club in Ipswich. The funds raised through this event will support the Red Cross disaster relief efforts as well as the delivery of life-saving services to citizens of the North Shore. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. with a 1 p.m. start. Teams of four are encouraged, and the fee is $1,100. Cost for an individual player is $275 per person.

Field Hockey

Athletic passes

Newburyport High School athletic passes are on sale in the main office at the high school. Passes are $50 for adults and $40 for students/senior citizens. Passes are good for all NHS home athletic events for the entire school year where admission is charged.

Hockey
